Cambodian Wedding

I got to get up really early on Saturday to meet up with Karl and shoot this wedding in San Jose. This was a Cambodian Wedding. The bride and groom dressed up in traditional Cambodian attire and later on switched to traditional wedding attire. Bride and groom really wanted to have a city look to there images so Karl scouted some great buildings that we shot at.

Here are a few images from the first part of the day from the Cambodian ceremony:

The bride and groom then changed over to traditional attire here are some images from the hotel:

Then we went out to downtown San Jose and took some formals here is one goofy one and one city look image:

Ok so here comes my favorite part. I just purchased a new clear umbrella and I brought it with me to the wedding just in hopes that Karl would maybe let me try it with the bride and groom and he did. I had a blast with it. What made it even better there was a floor water fountain in the park we were at and the bride and groom agreed to go and stand in the water. How cool is that. They didnt get wet because they had the umbrella :-) and there was just enough room for the two of them in between the streams of water. Check out some of the images I did with the umbrella.

My Sons First Emergency Room Visit

So today was the first visit to the emergency room. Ronin was walking towards me and tripped he hit the ground and somehow managed to cut open his jaw. All this right in fron of my eyes. No matter how close you watch your kids it seems like the worse accidents happen when they are right in front of you.

At first I didn't think it was serious but then when I saw the blood gushing out I knew it was not going to be good. Of course I tried doing the direct pressure thing but you know how kids are Ronin was not having it. As he kept crying and moving his jaw more blood just gushed out.

In panic I called 911 cause I didnt know what to do so we had the fire department come out and they helped me stop the bleeding. Because of the size of the cut they said Ronin needed to go to the emergency room but it would be a lot less of stress if I drove him in his car seat in our car.
So we did and my mom knowing that I love pictures quicly said grab the camera. So I did.

In the car ride to the hospital I snapped a photo....firefighters helped me clean him up a little before we put him in the car.

So when we got to the hospital things were just not moving fast enough for me but eventually it was that time after lots of screaming, crying and 4 people of holding Ronin down for the 4 stitches that needed to be done. They had to tie him down to one of those boards for kids which it still took 4 people to hold down because of how strong Ronin is. Every time someone tried to look at the cut Ronin got upset and kept of crying and irritating the cut more and caused it to bleed. At one point I remember his chest just covered in blood as he was crying and the nurses were trying to tie him down. That was the worse moment ever.

This is the board they tied him down to.

After the stitches we were all tired. My mom took a snapshot of me and Ronin.

Of course I had to take a picture of the cut before the Dr. stitched it up so click here if you want to see it but I do warn you its kind of grouse.

After some waiting in the room to be discharged my mom and my husband even got him to smile.

Playing with the leafs....

Yesterday I took portraits of Roshone (7), Breya (4) and Jaiden (6 weeks). We did some indoors portraits of the baby in the studio and then we did some family shots outside in the local park. I love the fall, all the leafs on the ground and all the different colors really make a great time to take portraits.

Adam and his Twin Sister

Adam and his sister came in and took their 3 year old portraits together. It was my first time meeting these 2 cute kids and we had a lot of fun. We didn't get to go where we wanted to for the session because the place was closed but we still made it work. We ended up going to the pumpkin patch over at Ardenwood Farm and to a local park as well. Here are a few images from the session.

A Story of Love

Below is a poem I heard at my pre-school I go to with my son. I really liked it so I decided to share it with you.

------------------------------

A Story of Love

You were six months old and full of fun,
With a blink of my eye you were suddenly one.

There were so many things we were going to do
But I turned my head and you turned two.

At two you were very dependent on me,
But Independence took over when you turned three.

Your third birthday, another year I tried to ignore,
But when I lit the candles there weren’t three but four.

Four was the year you really had to strive,
Why look at you now you’re already five.

Now you are ready for books and for rules,
This is the year you go to school.

The big day came, you were anxious to go,
We walked to the bus going oh so slow.

As you climbed aboard and waved goodbye,
I felt a lump in my throat and tears stung my eyes.

Time goes so fast its hard to believe,
That just yesterday you were home here with me.

And tomorrow when the bus brings you home and you jump to the ground,
You’ll be wearing your cap and gown.

So I’m holding these moments as hard as I can,
Because the next time I look I’ll be seeing a man.
